The lizard is a depiction of the Gila Monster found in the pottery designs of indigenous peoples in the Southwest. The power of the lizard lies in its ability to save itself from danger by leaving a part of itself behind. The lizard can lose its tail only once and grow a new one, so lizard also teaches us prudence as we only get one chance.
Shown on a 15" drum, the central design only is available for 13" drums, and the design will be centered on larger drums.
